Hearing the Typhoon May Close the Market, a Casual Regulated Verse on "Wind Disaster"

2007/9/18 22:53:57

Got back late, a bit tired. I heard that Shanghai might close the market tomorrow because of the typhoon. Taking this as a pretext, I'll dash off a regulated verse for you all. Too bad — even if Shanghai closes, Shenzhen still trades. With National Day approaching, one really has no heart for battle. Let's just all take the holiday off and go sightseeing — wouldn't that be grand?

Today, in my rush to go out, I wrote 107 as 108. I later corrected it in the car on the way to dinner, after finishing a round of meetings.

I've noticed that you're still quite confused by those odd segmentations. Those peculiar segmentations often arise because when the 1st stroke attempts to break the structure, no line segment can be extended from it. For example, where the green arrow points in today's chart — after inclusion processing, the top and bottom fractals have no candlesticks between them, so this cannot count as a stroke.

this ID thought it over and calculated the energy dynamics, deciding that the conditions for establishing a stroke can be slightly relaxed going forward. Specifically, a stroke must satisfy two conditions: 1. After inclusion processing, the top and bottom fractals must not share any candlestick — meaning no single candlestick can belong to both the top and bottom fractals. This condition is the same as before, and this absolutely cannot be relaxed, because only this way can sufficient energy dynamics be guaranteed. 2. Given condition 1 is met, between the highest candlestick of the top fractal and the lowest candlestick of the bottom fractal (not including these two candlesticks), without considering inclusion relationships, there must be at least 3 (including 3) candlesticks. Obviously, the 2nd condition is slightly more relaxed than the original requirement of having an independent candlestick between fractals. This way, places like where today's green arrow points would count as a stroke, and the corresponding three strokes downward would constitute a segment, so the entire classification won't produce those peculiar line segments.

For those who have always been confused by line segments, this new condition should be easier to handle — at least you can avoid dealing with complex line segments like those in lessons 106 to 107. And this, as this ID has just calculated, won't affect the overall dynamic energy of line segments. However, line segments like those in lessons 103–104 cannot be altered; such line segments must be handled properly.

Additionally, as explained before and now stated once more: this ID doesn't use TongHuaShun for daily trading. It's just that the system this ID uses isn't available online, so those markings can't be brought over. Therefore, this ID's markings on TongHuaShun are all done after market close, and the data between the two systems often has minor discrepancies. Sometimes out of laziness I just copy them over, and occasionally errors result. In truth, this ID's demonstrations are merely meant to help you understand the correct classification — just demonstrations. If you truly understand the principles of classification, you don't even need to look at them; based on your own system's data, there is always one uniquely correct answer. Fractals, strokes, and line segments are all the most basic preparations. The key is to use them to distinguish higher-level trend types — that is where the real operation lies. So be sure to understand the distinction between these two parts.

Enough said — here comes this ID's regulated verse. Friends in Shanghai, how does it compare to what's outside?

Wind Disaster

Chán Zhōng Shuō Chán

Through tiered towers the gale rolls the starry curtain
The Kunlun pillars topple, snapping cords and strings
The sky-sea lurches high and low, crashing in confusion
Cloud-mountains heave and swallow, wildly closing in
Through nine-fold gates of heaven, dragons and tigers scatter
Across the six realms of samsara, gods and demons starve
The Dipper grinds, Orion mills — quenched in ice and fire
Across the boundless three realms, only ashes fly
