Let's Talk About the Illness This Weekend

2008/6/27 16:40:23

Yesterday's post had a minor error in the timestamps when quoting old posts. Thanks to those who pointed it out — it has now been corrected. The statement about less than 20% reaching the value at the time of the break above 6100 was made the day before the 6124 peak, in the post "6100 Finally Broken — No Regrets" on October 16th of last year. This is noted here for clarification, and I also apologize for being a bit lazy and not carefully verifying the dates before quoting.

On this matter, let me also say something about attitudes toward criticism. This ID just saw that yesterday someone even got into an argument over this. In fact, even if the person criticizing was ill-intentioned from the start, deliberately looking for faults, what one should focus on is the objective, not the subjective. What people think subjectively is their own business — they create their own karma and bear it themselves. But objectively, at least an error was pointed out. Having an error means correcting it — this is the most basic principle of being human. Otherwise, if one acts like the financial regulators of a certain great power, stubbornly refusing to admit mistakes, then it becomes laughable.

More importantly, some netizens, out of a desire to defend this ID, have used vulgar language in their arguments. This ID never minds vulgar language, but this ID would like these netizens to consider: in defending this ID so passionately, are you not at a deeper level defending yourselves? The obvious logic here is: because you think this ID is good, and moreover you believe your view that this ID is good is correct, once someone challenges this view, you feel you can't bear it. Therefore, what you are actually defending is your own opinion, which has nothing to do with this ID. Whether this ID is good or not has nothing to do with anyone's opinion. Even if tens of millions of people think this or that about this ID, it's all irrelevant to this ID.

Therefore, this ID needs no defending, just as this ID's stock theory, like Euclidean geometry, needs no defending. Those who swallow it whole and then claim the theory is this or that — it's as if they're facing a geometry problem and any reaction is normal. The correctness of Euclidean geometry has never guaranteed that everyone can correctly prove every geometric problem. This ID's theory is the same. If you lack the ability to prove a geometry problem and then doubt Euclidean geometry to the point of resentment — that's your karma. Bear it yourself; no one can bear it for you.

As for the stock market, if 2945 can't be broken, continued consolidation around the central hub is a good thing — it provides another opportunity for a short-term trade. You might say you can't manage this short-term trade — well, if you can't, then sit on your little stool and watch. If you can't do it but insist on trying, go ask a doctor what the consequences will be.

Let me say it again: this year is a sprinting competition. And let me emphasize once more: the operating principle for central-hub oscillation is — when an upward move produces a sub-level or even sub-sub-level top divergence or consolidation divergence, get out first; conversely, when a downward move does so, get back in. If you insist on doing the opposite of this principle to demonstrate your hatred for this ID's theory, this ID has absolutely no objections. According to this principle, look at every instance of central-hub oscillation including this one — has there ever been a surprise?

As for this ID's illness — this round of chemotherapy ends next Monday. The remaining tumor volume is now less than 5% of the original. This round has so far shrunk the circumference around my neck by 7 centimeters, and less than 7 centimeters remain before it's completely gone. Of course, this isn't the final result — there are still a few days left. But it seems the possibility of a complete cure this time is still unlikely.

According to that extraordinary healer's view, for this ID to be completely cured, the two or three sessions of special treatment mentioned last time must be completed. However, we still haven't been able to find someone capable of performing that treatment. This ID hasn't been deliberately meditating or trying to open any channels recently. In a sense, this ID doesn't want to cure the illness right away — consider the illness a catalyst. I have a feeling it may still lead this ID to encounter some extraordinary things that wouldn't be encountered in a non-illness state. This ID is more interested in that. Let the illness linger for now. Even when it's cured, one should pick an auspicious day — settling things at the right time will be beneficial for the future.

The world is more mysterious than we imagine. I suppose someone will again accuse this ID of being superstitious. Unfortunately, those who say such things — their scientific literacy and breadth of knowledge probably don't reach even 10% of this ID's. When you call this ID superstitious, if you have any self-awareness, first go catch up on the basics of general relativity and quantum mechanics. As for intermediate courses like gauge field theory, string theory, and brane-world scenarios — if you don't know them, some day when this ID is in the mood, I can teach you. As for more advanced discussions, this ID feels there isn't anyone qualified at the moment, so let's not bother.

This ID doesn't usually talk like this. After all, modesty is considered a very hypocritical so-called virtue. But what this ID despises most are those boring people who have read a few Stalinist-edition garbage materialist textbooks — or who can't even tell strings from branes — and then lecture others about "science" while accusing people of superstition. To these people, this ID invites you to go home, face the wall, and reflect carefully: how many years have you been deluded by your own beliefs?

Tomorrow I'll continue looking at houses, and having discovered a shop run by the descendant of a legendary defunct old-time establishment, I've already made plans to go feast. So tomorrow there definitely won't be time to write posts. Please bear with me.

Weekend — off to feast and drink!
