Suggestions Regarding Sina's Ad-Sharing Program

2007/9/21 8:36:58

Sina has provided the venue and equipment, and it is entirely reasonable for them to earn their due through advertising. This ID supports this as well.
Since this matter concerns this ID, I might as well say a few words and offer some suggestions:

  1. This ID suggests that Sina bundle a charitable donation program into the ad-sharing plan — that is, allow bloggers to donate their allocated advertising revenue with a simple click. There could be different options, such as: Project Hope, people with disabilities, and so forth.

I believe the vast majority of people don't write blogs to make money. Having this charitable donation bundle would benefit five parties:

  1. Sina earns what it deserves while also providing a platform for doing good — killing two birds with one stone. 2. Advertisers promote their products while indirectly doing good — two birds, one stone. 3. Bloggers write their posts while simultaneously doing good — two birds, one stone. 4. Blog readers enjoy content while indirectly doing good — two birds, one stone. 5. Recipient organizations gain a new donation channel while spreading awareness of charitable behavior on a larger scale — two birds, one stone.

With these five instances of killing two birds with one stone, this ID believes this is something that should be done.

  1. There must be quite a few people who prefer not to disclose their public identity, but once they start blogging, they have effectively disclosed their legal identity and must be responsible for their legally meaningful actions. Therefore, although this ID is unwilling to currently disclose its public identity, I am also willing to participate in this program. Accordingly, Sina should allow people like this ID to participate under their blog name identity.

  2. Henceforth, all revenue from this blog will be unconditionally donated by this ID. I hope this ID's suggestions will be accepted.

(A side note: last night I discussed the blog text color issue with everyone. Now trying blue — please share your thoughts.)
