Two Rock Lyrics: The Land of Life Is Covered with Rice and Sorghum / Murder!

2006/7/23 16:44:27

The Land of Life Is Covered with Rice and Sorghum

You grew up eating rice
Occasionally some sorghum too
The land of life
Is covered with rice and sorghum

You've had steak too
Slapped between buns it becomes a burger
Hollywood blockbusters, non-Hollywood booze
Everyone says McDonald's fries are the best

Bleary eyes awake to a hazy sky
Pull out a paper arrow and take a bite
There's also a kind that puffs smoke
A speeding car heads toward the Fifth Ring Road

At the foot of the Great Wall, flipping flatbread
In and around the Forbidden City, taking a stroll
In the old days facing the sun, red flowers bloomed
Now seeking scriptures for modernization

Ribbons, restrictions, trapped in pockets
You still love that sorghum and rice
And your left hand holding a steamed bun
Your right hand clutching -- I won't tell you

Murder

Murder used to be such a hassle
Axes, knives, plus a bit of poison
Killing chickens used similar methods
Naturally without the poison and big knives

(Lest people laugh behind your back)

Chicken-killing procedures grew ever more automated
Plucking, gutting, not a step missed
Murder naturally got its concentration camps
Hair, skin, nothing wasted

(Sorted recycling, quite eco-friendly)

Times progress, efficiency improves
Killing chickens and killing people, do them together
Killing chickens to get eggs -- atoms, neutrons
Humans lay eggs more precious than any chicken

(The delicious chicken can only be imagined)

Times progress, can't stay the same forever
Portable is trendy, murder no exception
Atoms and neutrons are clunky to carry around
The genomic age naturally has better discoveries

(To kill six billion people takes only twenty grams of stuff
Naturally including any chicken anyone wants killed)

From now on, who dares look down on any of you
One pocket holds six billion of humankind
