Serious Request for Help: Hoping to Fulfill a Wish, but Encountering Legal and Technical Obstacles!

2006/2/24 14:41:55

First, let me declare that this is a very serious request for help. If you think this is a joke, please do not continue reading.

What this woman is least familiar with is certainly anything related to computers and the internet. As with men, computers and the internet are only for consuming — there's no need to spend time understanding them deeply. This view has been stated in many of this woman's posts. But men do have one use that's still quite valuable for now: men generally like things related to their hands, such as computers and the internet, which generally require relatively little brain use. So men are usually quite proficient at these things, and therefore those able to help with this request are probably men. Although this woman has been rather harsh on men before, I must waste a few words here — at least on this issue, this woman still has reserved opinions about men.

This woman has many classical music CDs at home — if not ten thousand, then eight or nine thousand. I set aside an entire room just for them. All are original, imported, genuine editions. Although this woman is very supportive of piracy, this woman never buys pirated copies. Even though often 100 RMB can't even buy a single CD, for the sake of a more pleasant listening experience, using originals is basic self-respect. The Copyright Association should absolutely commend this woman. I have complete collections of virtually all the most important composers — from Bach to Shostakovich, everything that should be here is here. I estimate that even a typical music radio station isn't as comprehensive as what this woman has. I also have many complete collections organized by instrument or performance type. This woman has a fondness for collecting complete sets — ironically, I have relatively fewer individual albums.

There is a very important issue here. This woman very much wishes to share these CDs with everyone online. Converting CDs to various music file formats is simple, uploading them is simple, but the key is this woman doesn't know where to put them. Also, doing so might raise legal issues. If some director even more Chen Kaige than Chen Kaige shows up, this woman has neither the time nor the mood to deal with them. So this is a very serious question. Moreover, many people may not be able to buy this many CDs. Good music is the wealth of all people in the world and should not be hoarded.

Finally, let me declare once more: this woman is discussing this question very seriously. Even the KMT and CPC have alternated between war and peace. At least within this post, this woman's war with men can have one ceasefire. Surely this attitude is acceptable!
