An Update on the Current Situation and Illness

2008/8/23 16:55:35

So far, I've actually only received two treatments from the extraordinary healer, but the reactions have been more intense than twenty days of chemotherapy. So the healer was right to space out the treatments — otherwise the body definitely couldn't take it. Since there hasn't been a final cure, there's not much point discussing the results now. After all, there are far too many cases where things start off with great results only to worsen after a relapse — it's like predicting a reversal right after a rebound. That's not this ID's style.

The worst part here is the eating problem. This ID is discussing this at the lowest possible standard — not about eating well, but about being able to eat at all. But there's no choice: many things this ID simply cannot eat — anything spicy, too salty, or "heaty." So now I can only have the kitchen make some noodles or cook up some porridge. In short, during the whole time here, not a single bowl of rice has gone down. Rather miserable.

The most miserable part is that even the simplest dishes here are done poorly. For example, scrambled eggs with tomatoes — what comes out is inedible. Often several dishes are ordered and then returned basically untouched. As for eating out, given the body's intense reactions right now, I don't dare go too far. I've been to the best place in the vicinity, and the result was the same — couldn't eat. Actually, it's not a lack of appetite but rather the food simply doesn't suit my palate. I remember when I was in Beijing, Hubei cuisine wasn't like this at all. There are probably just no Hubei restaurants around here — it's all Shandong chefs making Sichuan food.

I suppose this is the suffering one must endure to work off karmic debts. This ID will certainly persevere. Tomorrow, after the third treatment, the reactions are usually especially intense, so there'll be no posts. Please forgive me.
