2484 Points: A Key Short-Term Level

2008/8/15 15:27:47

Yesterday's daily inclusion relationship, today forming a daily bottom fractal — 2,484 becomes the short-term key level. The reasoning has been explained N times and won't be repeated. If the market fails to hold this level early next week, a renewed test of the bottom is inevitable. In the worst case, next Monday could open directly lower and begin probing. Therefore, the 5-day moving average becomes the most fundamental short-term support indicator — once effectively broken, the bottom-probing will be confirmed. Of course, if it can hold early next week, the chances of a larger-level rebound expanding from here become extremely high. Let's see what the market chooses.

Today was supremely aggravating. Can't fly right now — afraid of health issues during takeoff and landing — so had to take the train. And that train didn't even have a luxury sleeper compartment. The soft sleeper was extremely uncomfortable; couldn't sleep all night. Arrived at Wuchang in the morning — a super chaotic station undergoing expansion — and it happened to be pouring rain. A friend had offered to arrange a reception through provincial officials, but this ID refused, not wanting to owe favors. Now I kind of regret it.

The friend who brought me here has a particularly stubborn temper. This ID said to exit through the west plaza, but he insisted on listening to someone who said to use the east plaza. We got drenched. This ID was already quite angry. Even more ridiculous — to make the "three visits to the thatched cottage" more convenient, this ID couldn't stay at a nice hotel and had to find one nearby. After taking a taxi to the destination and seeing it — nearly passed out. This is Wuhan, after all — after all these years, how can there still be such a large undeveloped area in Hankou? Felt like walking into some wilderness from an old movie. Finding that hotel was like something from a vintage film. And the worst part — nowhere to eat. If there were restaurants nearby, you couldn't even see them. They said you could take a taxi to eat somewhere, but where are the taxis? Had to make do at the so-called hotel. Specifically requested Hubei cuisine — any old steamed dishes or lotus root pork rib soup would do. Result: none available. A Shandong chef cooking Sichuan food — couldn't cook without spice, and I couldn't eat a single bite. Later, went to the so-called little shop — everything was served hot. In the end, could only order some drinks. Tonight, I'm told they can specially prepare a steamed fish for us, but someone has to specifically go far away this afternoon to buy it. Dizzying!

But what's even more absurd than the most outrageous part: the moment I returned to the room, a phone call came asking if I wanted "room service." This ID asked — besides chicken, do you have duck, goose, pigeon? Send one squadron of each so I can pick! That scared the caller off. What a boring place.

But there is an extraordinary person here — this is a place of light. To learn that skill, I'll put up with anything. That extraordinary person apparently has a particular aversion to people who associate with officials. This ID absolutely cannot let provincial people arrange receptions at unreliable places — I'll endure the hardships and tough it out. Haven't met that person yet. This may really require N visits to the thatched cottage. Whether this ID has such karmic fortune remains to be seen — an extraordinary person cannot be forced or bribed, which is exactly why this ID is willing to suffer for this. Hearts can only be moved by sincerity, and this ID will tough it out here.

Enough said. The only pleasant surprise: this place actually has fiber-optic internet — that's enough. Once the weather clears, I'll figure out how to solve the eating problem. Being able to eat well is a blessing. I've heard the crabs here are even better than those from a certain famous lake — less pollution. Not sure if that's just bragging; I'll find time to properly verify. As for whatever other good food there is — as long as it's not fried, pan-fried, or grilled — I'll be inspecting it all. Any local friends around? Please recommend — where's the good food? Every previous visit to Wuhan was always in a rush. This time I'll properly experience Wuhan. Thanks. We'll see how it all turns out.
