Dream Back to the Tang Dynasty -- Whether from a Historical or Strategic Perspective, It Is Necessary to Consider Moving Our Capital Back to the Tang Era
The greatest dynasties of the Chinese nation were the Han and Tang -- this includes comprehensive evaluation of culture, military achievement, economy, and so on. The capitals of both the Han and Tang were at Chang'an. After the Eastern Han moved the capital away, national power clearly declined. Chang'an represents the most glorious period of Chinese civilization. Without Chang'an, there would be no Chinese civilization of such heights today.
Unfortunately, Chang'an has now become Xi'an, and for over a thousand years, Xi'an -- aside from some incident -- has basically been irrelevant to the mainstream of Chinese politics, economics, and culture. All dynasties that had their capitals in the Jiangsu-Zhejiang region were pathetic weaklings, the most recent being the Chiang dynasty. As for Beijing initially becoming the capital, that was entirely in response to the northern nomadic peoples -- the blood and fire involved could fill tens of millions of characters. An early Ming Dynasty power struggle ultimately made Beijing... Beijing. But the reasoning was extremely trivial, and that reasoning ultimately couldn't prevent the Ming Dynasty from dying under its own logic.
According to the original meaning of "China," only Chang'an serving as capital is fitting. This is the birthplace and place of glory of China's orthodox civilization -- the dragon's lair of Chinese civilization. This lady is a Beijinger, but this lady never visits the Great Wall or the Forbidden City -- those cannot represent the true Chinese civilization. Of course, using them for tourism to earn foreigners' money -- I don't object to that.
Throughout history, capitals have shifted back and forth. Now is the time to change Xi'an back to Chang'an. Whether from a historical or strategic perspective, it is necessary to consider moving our capital back to the Tang era. Although this idea is currently difficult for most people to accept, what is impossible in history? As for whether it can be realized through institutions like the National People's Congress -- that's another question entirely.
