In the Age of Information Explosion, the Verbose Writing Style Is Already Outdated -- Forums Must Set an Upper Character Limit for Posts.

In this age of information explosion, who has time for endless long-winded essays? The verbose writing style is already outdated. Forums must set an upper character limit for posts.

This lady has always believed that the best writing says the most in the fewest words. Look at classical Chinese poetry -- endless meaning in just a few dozen characters. Now look at today's forum posts -- ten thousand characters of hot air saying nothing at all. This is not writing; this is pollution.

Setting a character limit would force people to think before they write. It would weed out the blowhards and the time-wasters. The most impactful ideas in human history were expressed concisely. "Workers of the world, unite!" -- how many characters is that?

Forums should mandate: no more than 3,000 characters per post. If you can't say it in 3,000 characters, you probably don't know what you're trying to say. Brevity is the soul of wit. The verbose deserve no audience.
