Stripping Men Naked (2): Impotence -- The One and Only Unchangeable Fate of All Men
All men have one and only one fate that cannot be changed: impotence. Whether they're 20 or 80, whether they're emperor or beggar, this fate awaits them all. The difference is only in timing.
The male body is designed for obsolescence. From the moment of puberty, the countdown to impotence begins. All the bravado, all the chest-thumping, all the wars and conquests -- they are merely the desperate thrashing of creatures who know their clock is ticking.
Impotence is not just physical. It is the ultimate metaphor for all male failure. When men can no longer perform, they can no longer pretend. The mask falls, the emperor's new clothes vanish, and what remains is just a pitiful creature trembling before truth.
This is why men have spent all of human history building elaborate structures of power, ideology, and culture -- to compensate for, to distract from, this one inescapable biological fact. But no amount of civilization can change biology. Impotence is destiny.
