Impromptu Regulated Verse: Testimonials

Chán Zhōng Shuō Chán

The heart sketches, the mind paints—joy and sorrow of its own,
How much greed, how much wrath, how much doubt.
One bed of confusion—a rare dream indeed,
A hundred years of worry—easily turned to verse.
Where wind lifts tiger roars and dragon chants,
Where clouds surge and waters end and mountains cease—
Spanning past and present, the spirit of heaven and earth,
In the rolling, rolling red dust—matters of life and death.
