Seven-Character Regulated Verse: Starlight

2007/9/4 23:03:33

Started at 4 PM, tossed around until just getting home now—boring enough. No interest in writing anything either, so I'll just trot out an old piece to appease everyone. May you all have sweet dreams.

Starlight Lanterns

Chán Zhōng Shuō Chán

Star-lanterns by the myriad dot the heavenly streets,
The Silver River spreads its waves by sun-and-moon cliffs.
In jade halls, music of agate stones,
At the Jade Pool, dancing shadows in crystal shoes.
Palaces in the sky trail spring clouds behind,
After the dream, pavilions are buried in morning mist.
Hard to lay one's head on longing—the dew hangs heavy,
Through the azure sky, souls drift on the ninefold wind.
