At dinner the conversation turned to oil prices. Coming home, I dashed off a doggerel verse on-screen.

The free world has plenty of guns and cannons
Evil nations get fixed up first
Exporting outrageous new ideologies
Winning back actual big oil fields
Cloning democracy in Iraq
Defending human rights in America
The Holy Alliance blessed by God above
Allah and the Lord battle across the sky
