Regulated Verse: Drunken Night

2007/7/29 11:31:19

My apologies — I was out in the Beijing suburbs indulging in decadence, not at home, unable to upload music. The promised concert cannot happen. A regulated verse in its place; please forgive me.

Drunken Night

Chán Zhōng Shuō Chán

One cup poured, scattering the dust of a billion worlds
Half a couch of cool clarity, the body unmoored
Ladling from the Dipper, pouring the rivers — a banquet of ten thousand phenomena
Parting clouds, grasping the moon — three figures dance
Feelings drowned in dawn and dusk, heart as if dead
Strange transformations of heaven and earth, eyes not yet renewed
Seas boiling, mountains overturned, relishing this drunkenness
Wind and thunder, stratagems unfolding — let nature take its course
