Regulated Verse: Beast-Tongue (Don't Take It Personally)

2008/3/31 16:01:17

Don't feel like writing a proper post. I'll write a regulated verse instead — painting a portrait. But whatever you do, don't take it personally.

Beast-Tongue

Chán Zhōng Shuō Chán

Eagles soar, deer bolt, tigers and wolves scheme
Phoenixes cling to dragons, snakes and rats brawl
Is there a court that doesn't kiss the horse's ass?
Is there a politician who doesn't blow the bull?
Eyes empty, seeing only cranes amid the clouds
Great fame demands talk of gulls upon the sea
Pig-snouts, donkey-lips, crow-and-duck beaks
Dogs, sheep, mantises, sparrows — even more so, chickens and monkeys
