Detailed Analysis of "The Analects": For All Who Have Misinterpreted Confucius (57)

Zi Xia said: Each day recognizing what one lacks, each month not forgetting what one can do — this may be called love of learning indeed!
Yang Bojun: Zixia said: "To learn each day what one does not yet know, and each month to review what one has already mastered — this can be called love of learning."
Qian Mu: Zixia said: "Each day to know what was not known, each month not to forget what has been mastered — this can be called love of learning."
Li Zehou: Zixia said: "Each day learning some new knowledge, each month not forgetting the old knowledge already studied — this can be called loving to learn."
Detailed Explanation: This is not a statement by Confucius, but by his disciple Zixia. Confucius's thought, after being transmitted and retransmitted, completely lost its original flavor, and the source of this calamity began with his very own disciples. Both Zixia and Confucius use the phrase "can be called love of learning," yet Zixia's "each day knowing what one lacks, each month not forgetting what one can do" compared to Confucius's "the gentleman does not seek satiation in food, does not seek comfort in dwelling; is diligent in affairs and cautious in speech; approaches those who possess the Way and corrects himself accordingly" — the comparison is like that of an autumn cicada to a spring phoenix, an ant to a roc soaring in the ninth heaven. The distortion and corruption of Confucius began with his disciples, starting from the simplest concept of "love of learning."
"日" (rì), each day; "知" (zhī) — Confucius's "知" is always interpreted as "wisdom," but here "知" cannot be interpreted as "wisdom" without creating grammatical problems, and can only mean "to learn/recognize"; "亡" (wáng), through to "无" (wú), that which one lacks; "日知其所亡," each day recognizing what one lacks; "忘" (wàng), to forget; "能" (néng), what one can do; "月无忘其所能," each month not forgetting what one can do.
When Confucius's "vivid, present-moment manifestation of wisdom" was transformed by Zixia into "day-by-day accumulation of knowledge," the seeds of Chinese civilization's decline were thus sown. Zixia and his ilk are absolutely the great sinners of Chinese civilization across the millennia. Five thousand years of civilizational history, a vast ocean of texts — without "vivid wisdom of the present moment," it is all a pile of waste. If "knowledge" does not produce wisdom that can be "vividly present," then knowledge is merely a signboard hanging outside the intellectual's house of pleasure.
Zixia was particularly aggressive in his distortion of Confucius's concept of "learning." The following is another quote that has wreaked havoc throughout the ages:
Zi Xia said: When office goes well, then study; when study goes well, then serve in office.
Yang Bojun: Zixia said: "When one has fulfilled one's official duties with energy to spare, one should study; when one has studied with energy to spare, one should enter official service."
Qian Mu: Zixia said: "Those in office with surplus capacity should pursue learning. Those in learning with surplus capacity should pursue office."
Li Zehou: Zixia said: "When you've done well as an official, go study; when you've done well in studies, go be an official."
Detailed Explanation: China has a so-called "scholar-official" class. "大夫" (dàfū), those in office; those not in office are "士" (shì), scholars. The intellectual class and the bureaucracy formed an interest group that monopolized Chinese culture and politics for ages, with intellectuals becoming the most twisted and disgusting group. Nowadays everyone denounces so-called collusion between officials and businessmen, with the so-called intellectuals being especially enthusiastic about it. But this is merely because the two-thousand-year-old collusion between officialdom and scholarship, between officials and scholars, has been replaced by a more direct, more interest-driven circle, thus arousing nameless jealousy. In China, it has always been the case that the more knowledge one has, the more reactionary one becomes; the more knowledge one has, the more twisted one becomes. Knowledge has become a stepping stone, a bargaining chip for transactions, yet people forget that before wisdom, knowledge is nothing but garbage. An age of knowledge is nothing but an age of garbage.
However, from a certain angle, "when office goes well, then study; when study goes well, then office" is indeed a famous saying for the ages. But here, "优" (yōu) should be interpreted according to its original meaning — "优倡" (yōuchàng), a performer/entertainer. Under this interpretation, a true picture of China over the past two thousand years unfolds before us: officialdom, scholarship, and performance — all merged into one. In this self-gratifying unity, China's history has been marked by dynasty after dynasty for over two thousand years, yet nothing has fundamentally changed. Nowadays, more and more intellectuals have shed their last pretension and become playthings simultaneously ravished by both officialdom and commerce. Those agents of interest groups, those mouthpieces for traitors, those so-called economists and whatnot — they're not even fit to be capital's lackeys, at most they're sex slaves.
An age overflowing with performers, an age overflowing with knowledge, an age overflowing with official-commercial collusion, an age overflowing with garbage — under this famous saying for the ages, they all become equivalent. But an even more pitiable age is one where those who oppose knowledge use it as their own knowledge, those who oppose official-commercial collusion become yet another spectacle, and those who oppose performing become performers themselves. Opposing knowledge is merely using another set of tricks to trick. Wisdom has nothing to do with either knowledge or anti-knowledge. Haven't we seen enough of these tricks upon tricks?

Must leave soon, just a few quick words. Yesterday the traitors lowered the flag to half-mast for their American daddy. Those who dumped stocks yesterday to send funeral wreaths for the traitors — truly international-minded warriors. Here we only care about price action. Currently it's still oscillation around the 2905–2947 30-minute hub. Tomorrow the Two Sessions will end, and the traitors have intentions of launching an attack using this, so the corresponding battles will continue.
The traitors have recognized so many godfathers that they do have some strength — otherwise 3000 would have been broken through long ago in one soaring move. The continuous oscillation here is to exhaust the traitors' strength and build up our own. The traitors' territory now is limited to just a few sectors like large-cap financials. This year's independent bull run in second- and third-tier stocks has basically nothing to do with the traitors. Like the small-cap stocks mentioned yesterday, the traitors essentially have no part in them. If the traitors have the ability, let them keep pressing financials to their deaths — even without index gains, it's still a massive bull market every day. Wait until someday ICBC and BOC practically become the cheapest stocks again, and this ID would like to see how the traitors can keep pressing them down.
For specific operations, just maintain the technical price action around hub oscillation for the broader market — all the specific methods are in the lessons. Also, pay attention to individual stocks specifically — after all, the index doesn't mean much right now. As long as it's not the worst kind of one-sided trend, opportunities in individual stocks remain.
Sorry, must leave first. Goodbye.

Extremely busy lately — once the market closes there's a pile of things waiting. Only have time to post in the morning.
Must leave first. Goodbye.
