From the Deep Water Traffic Patterns of the Strong Nation Forum, On the Composition of Forum Users and Corresponding Suggestions

This young lady has not been here long, but has noticed that click counts typically peak around 10:30 AM and around 3:00 PM, while from Friday afternoon through Monday noon, clicks decrease noticeably. From this one can deduce that among the deep-water lurkers of the Strong Nation Forum, people from government agencies and similar organizations are relatively numerous. They are presumably all using their office computers to browse the internet, which produces the above pattern.

Judging from traffic and posting volume, lurkers far outnumber posters. Just picture those pairs of wretched eyes behind their screens, watching and watching but never saying a word -- these people are quite nauseating. So this young lady suggests that unless using an office computer makes writing inconvenient, these people should surface more often; otherwise they'll make themselves sick holding it in. After all, a cacophony of voices is always better than a one-voice-chamber. Only watching without writing can easily cause problems.

As for those who post on the forum all day long, including this young lady -- we probably all have some psychological issues, at least mild exhibitionism. As for those who lurk here carrying various missions, such as Cultural Revolution syndrome and the like, their conditions are even worse. For this reason, this young lady believes the most pitiful people here are the moderators, who spend all day mingling with a bunch of people with issues -- the toll on body and mind is truly unbearable. Therefore this young lady suggests that People's Daily Online should substantially increase the compensation for all moderators. At minimum, a psychological damage allowance is indispensable. If the leaders at People's Daily Online are not convinced, let them come here and observe for three days -- guaranteed they'll immediately agree to raise the moderators' compensation. This young lady believes that talk of spirit is fine, but nothing beats actually improving compensation. As the saying goes, "Heart is nice but gold is better -- heart without gold is just empty talk." The leadership at People's Daily Online should understand this. As for the level of compensation, at minimum it should not be lower than that of doctors and nurses during the SARS outbreak. Consider the various forms of mental pollution here -- every single one is worse than SARS -- so this request is hardly excessive.

Finally, this young lady also suggests that since traffic drops dramatically from Friday afternoon through Monday noon, why not simply declare a holiday? Everyone would be more comfortable. Also, a reminder to those using office computers: be careful, or your bonuses might get docked.
