Weekend Concert 18: Tonight, Only the Cello Shall Enchant You to Death!

Tonight
Only the Cello Shall Enchant You to Death
Being enchanted to death by the Cello isn't really that embarrassing — at least it's better than being enchanted to death by some big hoofed beast. And certainly much better than being enchanted to death by some Super Girl. On history's blood-red star curtain, those enchanted to death by big hoofed beasts curl into drifting corpse-shadows; on today's peach-colored rag, those enchanted to death by Super Girls curl into drifting mosquito-shadows. The mosquitoes that bite history leave corpses everywhere — the big hoofed beast calls this "books." History, written and bookified, turns Super-Girl-pink, instantly transforming into drops of blood that fall upon the enormous feet of the big hoofed beast. History — what a fine dish of wasabi duck feet!
Let the corpse-shadows of big hoofed beasts go, let the rags of Super Girls go, let the wasabi duck feet of history go! Tonight, only the Cello shall enchant you to death!

Lunch and dinner — two banquets — been hustling till now, with some activities unsuitable for male apes squeezed in between.
It's the weekend — let's not talk about stocks. The world is more than stocks, and a life with nothing but stocks is too unworthy of life.
Trade stocks like you make love — make love first, then do stocks.

This student wishes first to become a child, then a gentleman, then a ruler, perhaps reaching the Dao, reaching Chan. I wonder if there is hope in this lifetime.

That's a steady path, but for those with great courage and great wisdom, there's no need for such roundabout steps. If this ID tells you "you are Buddha" — do you dare accept it? If you don't dare, you lack great wisdom and great courage. If you truly think there's something to accept, then it's just grandiose delusion and hopeless foolishness.
Buddha — a dried shit-stick, what are you clinging to it for? A dried shit-stick — what does it obstruct of yours? What obstructs you is only you — what are you blindly seeking?

2006-11-25 16:58:17 For Cello Concertos, my favorite is Saint-Saëns' "No. 1 Cello Concerto" — I have a Yo-Yo Ma recording, three stars with a flower for performance and recording!

That'll be next week — plus an Elgar one on the side.

Everyone, it's late — time to rest. If you can't rest, go love. If you can't love, go do. If you can't do, keep doing — do enough, and love comes naturally.
Goodbye.
