Just got back. An utterly boring evening. This ID invested in a mine in a certain southwestern province, and some internal disputes escalated all the way up to this ID, forcing me to spend the entire evening dealing with the mess. In the end, this ID deployed a round of sweet talk and finally convinced N old men of my father's generation to go back. They fly out first thing tomorrow morning, and the old men can bid farewell to Beijing.
The trap this ID laid for them was this: you all take good care of your current business, it has better prospects than the mine. Yours is a modern service industry. Once you deliver results in two years, this ID will definitely do a PE deal for you. Let's forget about these petty matters for now. You have unlimited potential ahead. You should build the most formidable public company, and this ID will be your minority shareholder.
Enough said. Tired. The secondary market doesn't have these kinds of nonsense problems. In China, who isn't a brilliant strategist when it comes to fighting among people? These old men in their fifties and sixties are top experts in the industry, yet they still can't stop infighting. Intellectuals sometimes just need to be taken down a peg or two.
